What is Makaton Friendly?
Attaining Makaton Friendly accreditation enables us as a school to better serve Makaton users and improve outcomes for all and assists in our drive to always be a fully inclusive school. Makaton Friendly is a partnership program designed to make organisations and community spaces more accessible to Makaton users. At Newtownards Nursery School we are passionate about communication and firmly believe that all children and adults with learning or communication difficulty should enjoy equal access to our facilities and services. Sign of the week
Each week we teach the children, and their families, a new Makaton sign to increase their Makaton vocabulary.
