Forest Schools

At Newtownards Nursery School we are committed to a holistic approach to education and officially became a Forest School in 2020. Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve, develop independence, confidence and self-esteem, through hands on learning experiences in a local woodland or natural environment with trees.

In addition, Forest School is designed to be child-led and encourages children to participate in a range of creative, sensory and environmental awareness activities.

We attend Forest School once a month at our local park or at Mount Stewart and are proud to say that we venture out in all weathers!
